Most of us are taught physical hygiene skills from a young age and we generally don't question the need to perform daily rituals such as brushing our teeth. We have medicine cabinets for common physical injuries like cuts and colds but no tool kits for common psychological injuries such as loneliness, failure, rejection, guilt, and loss. Though what if you could have a skills kit to protect you from depression, anxiety and stress? In this inspirational talk, Guy Winch tells us that “you can’t treat a psychological wound if you don’t know you’re injured” and teaches us a lesson on why it is essential to practice emotional hygiene. I hope this talk inspires you to start looking at your emotional hygiene habits today.
